Swiss Doctoral School for Science Education (« SDSSE »)

Science education is a rapidly developing field of applied and basic research and of research-based development. Its ideas and problems arise at the intersection of theoretical and empirical research and of educational practice in science classrooms, informal learning and teacher education, of the important and manifold relations of modern societies with science and education, and of a scientific, evidence-based approach to science teaching and learning and science literacy.
Within this framework, the Swiss Doctoral School for Science Education (SDSSE) has the following objectives:

  • Support of ongoing theses and research projects of young researchers
  • Fostering the interaction of practice and research in science education
  • A well-targeted offer for participants, combining presentation and discussion workshops with input on current research and methodology and scientific professionalisation
